Job Description

The Players Club Host is to provide professional, positive and informed customer service at all times.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Promote the values of the Great Blue Heron Cultural Compass by example at all times and guide staff in adopting these values as a way of operating daily at the Great Blue Heron Casino
  • Must provide and promote superior customer service
  • Understand and explain the benefits of the Rapid Rewards Program to customers and encourage enrolment
  • Obtain customers personal information and enter it into the KCMS system accurately and in a timely manner. Issue players cards for members
  • Verify customer’s identification and screen players bonus points to provide information on redemption for cash back, meals or merchandise
  • Issue transaction vouchers for bonus points redemptions per the KCMS database
  • Provide customers with information on Great Blue Heron Casino facilities and amenities
  • Circulate throughout the Casino to gather information, run surveys, establish and develop relationships with customers
  • Liaise with other Casino staff to gather customer information in order to ensure satisfaction and outstanding customer relations
  • Take Jackpot winners photos and complete the Photo Release Form
  • Ensure information displays and brochures are on the counter within customer’s view
  • Assist with promotions, giveaways and special events as required
  • Assist with Bus Program, enrolling and distributing coupon booklets to participating customers
  • Provide sales of merchandise and various other types of products
  • Assist with moving, lifting and accurately verifying inventory
  • Assist with registrations for the Poker and Slot Tournaments and other live game events
  • Promote superior employee relations with co-workers and preserve team-working environment
  • Responsible to ask for help, assistance or clarification in order to be fully trained within 5 shifts
  • Perform all other duties as required by the Players Club Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of High School diploma
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and KCMS operating system
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service and 1 year of cash handling experience
  • Experience with Scratch tickets and Nevada sales
  • Experience in public speaking preferred
  • Experience with inventory procedures preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • Dedicated to superior customer service
  • Ability to work with numbers and accurate money handling
  • Computer skills: accurate data entry, work with multiple screens, mouse maneuvering through different screen tabs, numeric keypad ability
  • Ability to type minimum 35 words per minute
  • Knowledge of operating office equipment (photocopier, printers, digital camera, etc.)
  • Must be outgoing, well mannered, friendly and display a professional image
  • Capable of maintaining a positive working relationship with co-workers as part of a team
  • Able to communicate proficiently in English, an additional language is desirable
  • Knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and ability to stand for a full shift
