Job Description

To ensure that all administrative, operational and customer service functions of the Players Club are performed in an efficient, consistent and professional manner, resulting in outstanding patron relations.




  • Promote the values of the Great Blue Heron Cultural Compass by example at all times and guide staff in adopting these values as a way of operating daily at the Great Blue Heron Casino
  • Promote outstanding customer relations by monitoring the guest flow at the booth
  • Monitor and evaluate booth operations and productivity levels
  • Prepare and execute daily Self-Exclusions, DTE and Casino-Barring uploads and updates into database
  • Maintain daily, weekly, monthly reports including productivity levels, inventory, promotion results, etc
  • Track Players Club member’s points, monitor KCMS database for expired points and respond to system discrepancies whenever possible in an expedient manner
  • Supervise and train all Players Club Hosts as directed by the Players Club Manager
  • Coordinate the bookings and registrations for the Casino Tournaments
  • Periodical review and update of Hosts and Supervisors training manuals, to ensure that they are current and comprehensive, as instructed by the Players Club Manager
  • Perform opening and closing functions as required for the Cash Register/POS system
  • Efficiently perform assigned activities related to: complimentary vouchers, departmental merchandise transfers, merchandise redemption certificates, POS retail receipts, lottery and Nevada sales reports, digital camera and Paging Systems
  • Oversee that the “big cheque” is accurately filled out for Jackpot winners
  • Provide direct input into the performance appraisals of Hosts by monitoring and when necessary, provide coaching and/or performance management and motivating employees
  • Present corrective actions when necessary
  • Effectively resolve all customer and staff conflicts in a professional and positive manner
  • Assist Players Club Manager with special events, promotions and direct mail marketing including preparation of gifts, public announcements, etc
  • Assist OPP/Surveillance by providing Players Club member’s information in a confidential manner
  • Prepare the purchase order request form for the Player’s Club Manager
  • Prepare bi-weekly batches of all sales for staff and executive purchases
  • Oversee bi-weekly schedules and updates in advance for Manager’s approval
  • Verify payroll breakdown for Players Club Manager’s approval
  • Liaison with the Marketing Department to ensure bus group programs are run with efficiency through constant communication
  • Assist with opening new club member accounts, redeeming club member points, data entry and maintenance of club accounts as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Players Club Manager



Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma
  • Post-secondary studies in business related course
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and KCMS operating system
  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience in the hospitality industry including 2 years of Supervisory experience
  • Experience in public speaking and organization of events

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • Dedicated to superior customer service
  • Ability to work with numbers and accurate money handling
  • Computer skills: accurate data entry, work with multiple screens, mouse maneuvering through different screen tabs, numeric keypad ability
  • Ability to type minimum 35 words per minute
  • Knowledge of operating office equipment (photocopier, printers, digital camera, etc.)
  • Must be outgoing, well mannered, friendly and display a professional image
  • Capable of maintaining a positive working relationship with co-workers as part of a team
  • Able to communicate proficiently in English, an additional language is desirable
  • Knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and ability to stand for a full shift
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional and positive manner
  • Must have leadership and motivational skills
